The third meeting of the Thematic Peer Group B on Key Commitment 2: National legislation and procedures compliant with the Lisbon Recognition Convention is aimed at stimulating reflection on automatic recognition. The meeting will represent the occasion to present evidence on the implementation of automatic recognition from the latest monitoring report exercises, and to share the experiences at national level from TPG B members.
The second part of the meeting will be devoted to discussing the state of art of the TPG B workplan and to launch the mid-term TPG B monitoring survey. TPG B members will also be involved in breakout sessions discussions on the topic of recognition and artificial intelligence. In preparation of the meeting, participants will be asked to reply to the following questions by 16th January:
• Are there any ongoing reflections on whether to apply artificial intelligence to support recognition?
• Are you studying or working on specific legislation on the use of AI in higher education?
• Is artificial intelligence applied to support recognition procedures at national level?
• Do you have any good practice at national level that you consider useful to be shared with the group?
Answers collected will be analysed and will represent the starting point for the discussions in the breakout sessions, which will be focused on how the TPG B could offer support to these processes, taking into consideration risk and opportunities of applying AI in recognition. This meeting is the third organised under the BFUG mandate and the second supported by the umbrella project TPG-LRC Plus – Fostering LRC implementation in the EHEA, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme. A slot in the agenda will be devoted to present how project activities will support the institutional action plan of the TPG B.
