Work programme 2012-2015
7th EQAR General Assembly
The 7th General Assembly of the EQAR was held on 13 March 2013 in Dublin, Ireland and hosted around 55 participants. It was organised in conjunction with the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) 35th meeting and Irish EU Presidency.
Several important issues were presented to the participants during the 7th General Assembly. One of them was the EQAR’s 2012 Annual Report, which gave an overall image of the EQAR’s activities during the last year and outlined the main points such as report to the Register Committee, policy developments in the EHEA, communication and policy developments as well as organisation and finances.
The participants also discussed and approved the 2013/17 Strategic Plan. This was an important step for strengthening the EQAR's strategic role, as recommended by the international expert panel that reviewed EQAR in 2011.
The 2013/14 Work Plan as well as the accounts for the year 2012, the budgets for the years 2013 and 2014 were also endorsed.
During the presentation of the publication of decisions, it was stressed that all decisions on eligible applications by quality assurance agencies for inclusion on the Register will be published and the objectives of publishing all decisions are to ensure full transparency of the way in which EQAR operates and to prevent rumours or misinformation about EQAR’s decisions.
At the end of the meeting the participants were invited to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the EQAR, during which Mr Justice Bryan McMahon, the first Chair of the Register Committee, Ms Lesley Milson, the president of the EQAR’s Executive Board as well as Mr Frank Petrikowski, the European Commision, addressed EQAR members and partners in a special congratulation speech.
