The Bologna Process: A National Bologna Expert Training Session
Bologna Expert Training Session and Learning Outcomes Seminar - National team of Bologna Experts malta 2009-2011.
A seminar entitled ‘The Bologna Process: A National Bologna Expert Training Session’ is being held at the Dolmen Resort Hotel, Qawra, on December 14.
The aim of the seminar is to give an overview of the Bologna Process.
Starting from the Bologna Declaration in 1999, targets, principles and achievements will be outlined, with particular focus on the Leuven Communiqué and the 2020 targets.
The seminar is aimed at stakeholders in the education sector, particularly professionals involv-ed in higher education.
The seminar is being organised by the European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA) and the Bologna Experts group (Malta), in collaboration with the Malta Qualifications Council and the National Commission for Higher Education.
The seminar is being funded with support from the European Commission, specifically the National Teams of Bologna Experts.
The main outcomes of the discussions held mainly revolved around:
- Increasing the Bologna Experts’ visibility;
- Generating more awareness and disseminating more information about the Bologna Process;
- Increasing coordination between institutions for a harmonized and standardized system on a national level.
The social dimension and aspects of Higher Education were emphasized as being intertwined within a student’s potentiality and capability of obtaining higher qualifications in both Vocational Education and Training and Higher Education.
