In line with the International Association of Universities (IAU) Policy Statement on Equitable Access and Success in Quality Higher Education, this Conference focuses on this topic in order to provide higher education leaders with an opportunity to actively take part in a global reflection on strategies to be elaborated to ensure increased equitable access to higher education and guarantee the best possible success to the students enrolled.

The Association is committed to promoting the twin goals of equitable access to, and successful participation in higher education for all members of the society, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, economic or social class, age, language, religion, location and [dis]ability. IAU believes that equitable access to quality learning contributes significantly to the development of national human resources, promotes social justice and cohesion, enhances personal development, employability and, in general, facilitates sustainable development.
